NORTH TEXAS (CBSDFW) – Due to the extreme weather conditions canceling classes across many North Texas school districts over the past months – many school systems will need to schedule make-up days.

We had two days built into the calendar – we are using them both – April 18 and June 6 We only had two cancellations.
We’ve only missed two school days this year, so we will use our weather makeup days that are included in the calendar – June 5 and 6.
So far, Birdville ISD has only closed the two days in December. BISD’s bad weather make-up days for students are Monday, Feb. 17 and Friday, April 18. These are for the two days (Dec. 6 and 9) that the district was closed for ice.
We will use our two bad weather days built into the calendar: Friday, April 18 – and Friday, May 23. We’ll request a waiver from TEA for the third day – and for any others we may still have to use.
Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD
We already had two days built into our calendar. So students will attend school on April 18 and May 23.
We have only missed two days and will be using the bad weather days built into our school calendar–May 23 and June 6.
Coppell ISD builds 2 “weather days” into its annual calendar and this year is no different. We will be using both of our days – April 18, and June 5.
We have two inclement weather days built into the calendar. Those days are April 18 and June 6.
The first two days will be Friday, April 18, and Friday, May 23. The district plans to submit a waiver to TEA for the other 3 missed days.
We are using a previously scheduled staff development day – Monday, February 17 – and the first previously scheduled snow days – Friday, June 6. We opted to use the Feb. 17 date instead of the Monday, June 9 day originally scheduled for bad weather.
We had two days built into our calendar for inclement weather. We will use these days (April 18 and May 23) as regular school days.
Fort Worth ISD
The TEA requires that Districts build in 2 make-up weather days to their annual school calendars. The FWISD days for the 2013-2014 school year are Friday, April 18 and Monday June 9.
Frisco ISD has canceled two school days so far due to inclement weather – Friday, December 6 and Monday, December 9. School will now be in session on both Friday, April 18 and Friday, May 23. For high school students, April 18 will be a “B” day and May 23 will be an “A” day.
We have two makeup days built into the school calendar and will use those first as state law requires. Our makeup days in Grapevine-Colleyville ISD are Friday, April 18, and Thursday, June 5. We plan to submit a waiver for the third day missed.
HEB ISD has two inclement weather make up days built into the school calendar and that’s what we will use to make up for Dec. 6 and 9. The two dates we’ll use to make up are April 18 and May 30.
Friday, April 18 will be a regular school day for all students and employees. Friday, May 30 will be a half day of school for all students. This is because the day before, May 29, was scheduled as an early release day for the last day of school. This day has now been moved to May 30 to make up for the December 9 absence.
We’ve had two weather-related closures this school year: Friday, December 6 and Monday, December 9. Our make-up days – as noted on the district calendar are Friday, April 18 and Friday, May 23.
They had two days off in Dec. for the ice storm, Dec. 6 & 9. Those days are being made up on Feb. 17 and June 6.
McKinney ISD has two bad weather make-up days already built into the calendar—Friday, April 18 and Friday, May 23. We’ve had two school cancellations this year due to inclement weather, so we’ll be using both of those calendar make-up days.
Our two makeup days were already on the calendar. They are April 18 and June 6.
We do have two bad weather make up days scheduled. One will be this coming Monday. The other is in April. As for the other two days, we will be filing a waiver with TEA.
Currently our calendar reflects that students and staff will make up the days on the designated bad weather days of June 9 and 10, but this is pending finalization of our requested waivers, in which those days could potentially be waived for students, putting the last day for students back on June 6. We will update our calendar, found online at http://www.pisd.edu/calendar, upon finalization of the waiver process.
Our make- up days are February 17 and April 18. We are requesting a waiver from the state for the third make up day, which would be on June 6.
We had a two-hour delay this morning and missed one day in December due to the weather. We will make up the missed full-day on Friday, May 23.
Wylie ISD’s will be April 17 and June 6.
