RICHARDSON (CBSDFW.COM) – Calling it his First Amendment right to freedom of speech, a Richardson man has posted his personal view about the state of the country outside his small business. But not everyone who eats his food wants to swallow his politics.
Bradley Mullan’s livelihood depends on customer service, but when he decided to post the message “we the people are angry” as an appetizer of commentary on his sandwich shop marquee we asked him to explain.READ MORE: Five Denton Schools On Increased Security Alert After 'Unsubstantiated' Threats
“For me, it’s just kind of the state of this count… it’s a great country and I’m seeing it, I feel anyway, losing that greatness,” he said.
Mullan’s menu of grievances included the direction of the federal government, sandwiched with his anger over politics, economy and American culture.
Richardson resident Mistie Venus said, “I didn’t see the sign when I pulled up, and I would still shop here.”
Billy Kidd agrees with Mullan. “I talk to people all over the U.S. and there’s nobody happy.”
Among the purchasing public in the shop Friday, also known as “we the people,” the views were as varied as the lunch items they ordered.
“We all have anger issues about something,” Venus said. “I mean nothing is going to be perfect.”

When asked about Mullan putting the sign up resident Priscilla Ceballos said, “It seems like he’s saying ‘we the people’ like speaking for us and I don’t agree.”
Of the situation in America Princeton Resident Glenn De’cou said, “We need some people that are able to work with one another, compromise, and get this country moving again.”
“To me it seems like there’s a concerted effort to break down what’s made this country great,” Mullan commented further.
Bradley Mullan may think his views are a reflection of all the people, as his sign suggests, but the only customer consensus found Friday: no signs of anger over the food.
