NORTH TEXAS (CBS 11 NEWS) – Terminal D at Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport is the big international terminal. After a spot-check with local travel agents, CBS 11 News learned North Texans are not changing trip plans, even though they could interact with individuals who’ve traveled to and from West Africa at connecting European airports.

Those airports could be London Heathrow, Brussels, Paris, or in the case of Wednesday afternoon at DFW Airport — Frankfurt, Germany. All of the airports are busy airborne crossroads in and out of African cities.

We asked travelers, given that Ebola came to North Texas by an individual, not infectious at the time, traveling through major airports was a problem? “I’m flying to Europe so I’m not concerned about it at all,” said Simona Beal of Highland Park. She is going to Germany and Estonia. When asked if Ebola exposure worried her she said, “No… ‘gotta take your chances. ‘Gotta enjoy flying.”

Midlothian resident Karen Weglay admitted she might have second thoughts if she were actually going to West Africa… but feels those concerns aren’t warranted since she’s headed to Stuttgart.

“No, I’m not going to worry about it, not going let it change my lifestyle,” Weglay said. “[I’m] just going to be careful and wash my hands and try not to talk to anybody I’m not really sure about.”

But CBS 11 was curious if the Ebola news would change plans for a couple of newlyweds on their way to honeymoon in Germany.

“No, not at all,” said new husband Bill Wait. He and his new wife, Diane Siegel, have planned their big moment for four months, ever since their wedding.

“It’s [Ebola] so rare right now and most people are isolated to some degree that I just don’t think there’s much danger for the rest of us,” Wait said.

Diane agreed, saying her concerns now are the same as they’ve been in the past. “Not any more than travelling any(where). You know, I’ve got my hand sanitizer and we’ll be careful about what we do.”
