Authorities say the girl’s father was teaching her how to drive in a mobile home park in Lewisville, located about 25 miles northwest of Dallas

The girl placed the Nissan Sentra she was driving in reverse and accelerated out of the driveway Friday evening.

The car crossed the road and hit 12-year-old Eric Lozano and his 10-year-old cousin. Lozano was pinned against a home after being hit.

Lewisville police said Lozano was taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The 10-year-old boy was hospitalized but was later released.
