FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) – A masked man has been storming into Fort Worth businesses robbing employees and gas station attendants at gunpoint.
Friday Fort Worth Police shared with CBS 11 surveillance video in hopes someone will be able to help them catch the suspect. According to police each these robberies only lasts a couple minutes.
The first hit was right was Sunday and the best look at the suspect came from a surveillance camera. A masked gun wielding man storms up to registers demanding cash all while the crook cams are rolling.
One of the robber’s victims, Maria Cardona is speaking out.”I just stood here because i didn’t know what to do,” explained Cardona.
Cardona was training as a cashier at a Fort Worth convenience store, when the robber first struck.
The suspect pointed his gun at her and another employee demanding money. “He told everybody to get down, and then he came back here and told the girl to give him the money or he’s going to shoot somebody,” said Cardona.
He did the same thing two days later at another mom and pop store, and less than 10 hours after that, a third crime, hitting a Metro PCS store.
The suspect holds a gun to the employee’s head as she fills his bag with money. The robber is always wears gloves, a hoodie, and his signature red bandana to cover his face.
Police say he walks into the stores covered from head to toe because he know’s the cameras are watching and rolling. So far all of the victims have come out unscathed.
“We feel confident that he will hit again,“ said Fort Worth Det. Brain Raynford
But police said they need him off the streets because his next attempt might be a lot more aggressive.
“I hope they catch him soon so he can stop going to other places and you know robbing people,” said victim Cardona.
Fort worth detectives Friday said they are investigating a 4th similar robbery in the area, but they have not officially linked it to the three crimes.
