Federal agents say Hunter Foster is wrapped up in a drug trafficking operation and was arrested at an after-hours club that operates out of a northwest Dallas strip club. Foster was one of 15 people indicted on drug conspiracy charges.

Speaking with CBS 11 News by phone, Christina’s mother, Jonni McElroy, said the new development has left her speechless. During the conversation she also revealed that her daughter was “upset over her boyfriend’s alleged drug use and threatened to leave him” right before she vanished.

News of Foster’s alleged drug use wasn’t a revelation either to Christina‘s stepmother, Anna Morris. She told CBS 11, ” I can’t really say that I’m surprised, because he does have a history. I had hoped that that was passed.”

Anna Morris went on to say that she doesn’t believe Foster had anything to do with her stepdaughter’s disappearance. “They weren’t together that evening,” she said. “I have my own issues with him, but I don’t, I don’t know that he knows where my daughter is.”

Plano police have long-said that Foster has an alibi the night Christina went missing and that he’s had a long relationship with Christina’s family.

Anyone with information about Christina Morris' whereabouts is urged to call Jonni McElroy at 872.658.5006 or 972.658.6462.

Morris last seen entering a parking garage at the Shops at Legacy in Plano, on August 30, with a high school acquaintance, Enrique Arochi. A search warrant later showed that calls and text messages were sent from Arochi’s phone to Foster, at 3:50, 3:53, and 3:55 the morning the Fort Worth woman disappeared.

Less than a month ago, investigators from the Plano Police Department searched an area just off U.S. 75/Central Expressway, near the Watters Creek shopping center, in relation to the Morris case.

Police told CBS 11 News then that the search did not mean they have any evidence Morris is dead or alive.  They said the efforts were part of a regular search pattern that detectives have been conducting since Morris disappeared.

Between 15 and 20 detectives spent some time walking through high grass, thicket and a creek bed. They left the area without finding any trace of the woman.

While step-mom Anna Morris stands firm Foster is not involved in what happened to Christina, mom Jonni McElroy sounded a little more skeptical and said she isn’t so certain he [Foster] wasn’t involved in her disappearance.
