FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) – Fort Worth police are asking for the public’s help in identifying and locating a child predator suspected of sexually assaulting an 11-year-old boy.

At an afternoon press conference detectives said the suspect was able to get the 11-year-old alone with the lure of money. Police say the man approached the 11-year-old and another child and asked if either of them wanted to make $100. The 11-year-old said he did, and was then told to go to a gate at the rear of an apartment complex.

At some point after, the child got into the suspect’s vehicle and was taken to a side street, with no surrounding houses, and was assaulted. The suspect later gave the child the $100 and released him.

Detective Chris Daniels said the search for the suspect is one of the department’s major concerns. “We have a significant volume of child abuse cases that we’re working on, but this one certainly takes priority.”

Police say the man also solicited a 17-year-old boy and has been seen loitering near the Martin Luther King Jr. Community Center at 5565 Truman Drive.

Unfortunately Detective Daniels said the wanted man may have experience committing these types of crimes. “I believe, based on what we’ve learned with these two cases, that there may be more victims.”

The suspect is described as a black male in his 30s, wearing a goatee. He is believed to be driving a silver BMW.
