DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) -A suspect, a reporter, and a photographer – All in one elevator.

It happened Friday when Investigative Reporter Mireya Villarreal confronted a former funeral home owner, Rachel Hardy, whose husband is on the run.

Police say Hardy and Dondre Johnson took people’s money, promised them legitimate funerals for their family, but didn’t deliver.

Today, after her criminal case was called and heard, the CBS 11 I-Team was there as Hardy was served with another lawsuit in this case.

“He’s trying to serve you with a lawsuit. Do you have anything to say about that Ms. Hardy,” Villarreal asked outside the courtroom.

Rachel Hardy was one of the owners of the Johnson Family Mortuary; the same mortuary where police found five rotting bodies abandoned inside. She was in court today for a hearing on her seven charges of abuse of corpse.

More than four months ago the family of one of the victims filed a lawsuit against Rachel Hardy, Dondre Johnson and Derrick Johnson. Problem is no one’s been able to find the trio to serve them with the suit.

But a few weeks ago the I-Team tracked the twins down through a funeral home in Sherman.

We were able to connect them to Travis Mitchell, the owner of Serenity Chapel Funeral Services, and at least two funerals his business has worked in the last month.

While trying to talk with Hardy today, Investigative Reporter Mireya Villarreal jumped into a crowded elevator to ask her some questions:

Mireya Villarreal – Ms. Hardy, do you happen to know where Dondre is?
Hardy Attorney – Please. Don’t ask her any questions.
Mireya Villarreal – I can definitely ask questions. If she doesn’t want to answer that’s fine. All we’re doing is looking for Dondre Johnson. Do you know where he is by any chance?

Today Rachel Hardy’s case was continued for the third time. While she never answered any of our questions, she was finally served.

Well sort of.

Criminal charges and a civil lawsuit, Dondre Johnson faces the same problems as his wife. But he is on the run.

If you know where he is, give the Tarrant County Sheriff’s department a call.
