While detectives aren’t offering specifics, they believe the man was murdered.
Maria Reyes lives a block away. “I’m really concerned right now,” she said. Reyes has four children ranging in age from two- to 18-years-old. “We’re living here 14 years and this is the first time someone got murdered.”
While police work to identify the victim, mother Noemy Meraz says she was drawn to the area. She explained that she hasn’t seen her 19-year-old son in three weeks. “I see the forensics and I see Channel 11, and the police, so I stop here to see. Police don’t believe Meraz’ son was murdered.
