According to officials, the unidentified body was found Friday at 2:09pm floating in the water near boaters on the east side of the lake – about 100 yards off shore.

Police say witnesses claim they saw the subject walking around Weatherford Park earlier in the day. The park is on the south side of the lake.

Police are withholding the name of the individual pending notification of family.

Officials say there were no visible injuries constant with foul play but they are “not ruling anything out” and that it is too early to determine the cause of death. The body was transported to The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office where they are set to conduct a more thorough examination.

Weatherford police say the investigation is still active.
