FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) – Firefighters battled a blaze at a Fort Worth liquor store early Tuesday morning. It started shortly before 4:00 a.m. near the intersection of East Lancaster Avenue and Oakland Boulevard, on the city’s east side.

When emergency crews first arrived at the scene, flames and smoke were pouring out of Corky’s Beverage Center. Fire investigators have focused their attention on the front of the store. It is not yet clear what might have originally caused the fire.

Nobody was injured during this incident.

The flames were extinguished, but workers continued to monitor the location for possible hot spots. Those crews have now left the scene. The health department will also be visiting this location on Tuesday. Another business located next door to the liquor store was not damaged by the flames.

Crews said that security bars on the front door made it difficult to battle this blaze. It took firefighters a few minutes to pry open the bars and get into the building. The front doors are now boarded up. Police will stick around on Tuesday to make sure that nobody goes into the store without permission.
