Silver didn’t give an exact time frame but said Thursday in South Africa that a pre-season and, ultimately, a league game was the aim, with the NBA on a “fast track” to build its brand in soccer-crazy Africa.

Silver and 20 top NBA players, led by Paul and two-time All Star Luol Deng, are in Johannesburg for the exhibition game Saturday featuring a Team World versus Team Africa.
