UPTOWN DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) – A worker for Panda’s Restaurant & Bar was hospitalized when two men who placed a food order beat him Saturday night. The first punch came after the delivery driver asked for a credit card.

“He says, what happened? You stupid Chinese driver guy. I paid already, already paid food. He fight, fight me,” said the victim, Wei Zhu.

Police said there aren’t any independent witnesses to say which side is telling the truth. But the two men accused of the crime dispute Zhu’s account of what happened.

“There was no hesitation for us to show him the card. It was just in the apartment 20 feet away,” one of them said.

The caller insisted that Zhu pushed him against the wall, followed him and “went for his throat.” The man showed CBS11 photos of bruising around his neck.

“It was like he was enraged or something,” said the customer.

But Wei’s boss said that doesn’t make any sense to him.

“A 56-year-old man delivers food to two young persons and try to fight with the two young persons? I don’t know. You tell me,” Panda’s owner, Chan Foong, asked.

Both Wei and the other man who’s accused of the attack, (neither wanted their identities reported), said they called 911.

According to the police report summary, both sides gave contradicting reports of what happened and are disappointed by the outcome. The investigation is ongoing.
