The massive security camera network at Nebraska Furniture Mart captured the disturbing scene on Saturday, Aug. 1.
The store’s security team was able to determine exactly when two adults parked the SUV and went inside to shop.
Concerned shoppers gathered around the gray SUV in the near 100 degree heat. All the windows of the SUV were rolled up and the doors were locked.READ MORE: Rangers Stop Lynn, Beat AL Central-Leading White Sox 2-1
Police said an off-duty Kaufman County Sheriff’s Deputy named Matthew Slater smashed the window to rescue the infant who was sweating and turning red.
Parents Patrick and Stefanie Long eventually walked out and were confronted by police.
An arrest report revealed the infant’s parents were in shock and disbelief and reportedly told investigators they had been moving all day.
