DETROIT (105.3 THE FAN) – The Texas Rangers placed Of Josh Hamilton on the 15-day disabled list (retroactive to August 16th) due to left knee inflammation.

Josh has had surgery twice on each knee.

The Rangers also activated outfielder Will Venable on the 25-man roster.

Venable was acquired from the San Diego Padres in exchange for OF/C Marcus Greene and a player to be named later or cash considerations on Thursday.  He joined the team for the opening of the series in Detroit today.
