AUSTIN (CBSDFW.COM) – The Texas Department of Public Safety has added Jesse Cruz Jr., 49, to the Texas 10 Most Wanted Sex Offenders list. They’re offering a cash reward up to $3,000 for information leading to his capture. All tips are guaranteed anonymous.

Cruz, a violent sex offender, is wanted for failure to comply with sex offender registration requirements.

Cruz has ties to the San Antonio area, which was his last known address. In 1993, Cruz was convicted of indecency with a child by sexual contact after an incident in Bexar County involving a 12-year-old girl. His criminal history also includes aggravated assault with deadly weapon and unlawful carrying of a weapon.

Jesss-Cruz-TattooCruz is 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighs approximately 255 pounds. He has a large tattoo on the right side of his neck, a small tattoo near his right eye and various other tattoos. He has prior work history with moving companies.

To be eligible for the cash rewards, there are five different ways to provide anonymous tips:
♦Call the Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-800-252-TIPS (8477).
♦Text the letters DPS – followed by your tip – to 274637 (CRIMES) from your cell phone.
♦Submit a web tip through the DPS website by selecting the fugitive you have information about, and then clicking on the link under their picture.
♦Submit a Facebook tip at by clicking the “SUBMIT A TIP” link (under the “About” section).
Submit a tip through the DPS Mobile App. The app is currently available for iPhone users on the Apple App Store.
