JOSEPHINE (CBSDFW.COM) – Multiple people were hurt on Monday morning when two cars were involved in a head-on collision in Collin County. The incident happened at about 9:00 a.m. in the 1600 block of County Road 596, just outside of the Josephine city limits.

Authorities with the Texas Department of Public Safety responded to the crash. The Collin County Sheriff’s Office stated that a Nissan Armada SUV was traveling eastbound along the road when it was struck by a westbound Nissan Maxima.

Officials are not yet sure what caused the smaller car to run into the larger vehicle.

There were three people inside of the Armada at the time of the crash, and another two people inside of the Maxima. While all of the victims survived this incident, they had to be transported to nearby hospitals.

The victims inside of the Armada were all taken by air ambulance after being momentarily trapped inside of their vehicle. The current conditions of the victims are not known.
