ARLINGTON (CBSDFW.COM) – Witnesses told CBS11 News that onlookers encouraged a gunman to kill his victim after a shooting at AT&T Stadium Sunday night.

Police said the violent brawl started with two fights in lot 10 following the Cowboys game against the New England Patriots. CBS11 obtained exclusive video showing the brawl moments before the gun came out.

“I saw a guy reach up and put a gun to his head,” said Greg, a witness who was tailgating nearby screaming crowd.

Police said the man with the gun was Marvin Rodrigez, 28, from Dallas.

“What do I do? I didn’t want to get shot,” said a bystander named Greg, who didn’t want his last name revealed. “I didn’t want to run up on the guy and he pulls the trigger on my friends head.”

Police said Rodriguez shot a 43-year-old man in the throat who was knocked to the ground trying to break up the brawl.

“I turn around and I see the guy on the ground who had just gotten shot,” said Greg. “I didn’t want to leave because I saw the shooter. We knew who did it, you know.”

Police said Rodrigez tried to run but tripped over a retaining wall and got hurt. Greg told police what he saw, and what he heard.

“After he shot the guy, one of his friends was telling him, ‘Kill him! Kill him! Kill him’,” said Greg.

Rodrigez was arrested at the scene and is being held at Arlington Municipal Jail.

The victim is still in the hospital recovering from his gunshot wound.
