SOUTH FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) – Flash flooding happens fast and can end just as quickly as it pops up.

North Texans caught up in flash flooding can quickly find themselves in danger.

Fort Worth resident Jane Dysart experienced it first hand Friday at Camp Bowie Boulevard and Hulen Street. Rescue crews saved her from quickly rising waters as fast moving flash floods left cars stranded.

Homeowners were even seen running into the rain Friday afternoon to see if their repair work to help ease flooding in their neighborhood was holding up.

By day’s end, there were no fatalities due to flash flooding in the Metroplex but during one 37 minute stretch, Fort Worth firefighters responded to 16 high water calls.
