DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) – Roger Staubach to Drew Pearson is one of the most successful and legendary combinations in Dallas Cowboys lore. But, in 1973, nobody knew who Pearson was — until he provided the 31st greatest moment in Cowboys history.

Only one point seperated the Cowboys and Los Angeles Rams in the fourth quarter of their divisional playoff showdown in December 1973. That’s when the Cowboys pinned their playoff hopes on an undrafted rookie wide receiver.

Staubach found rookie Pearson racing over the middle for an 83-yard touchdown. The play swung the momentum back in the Cowboys favor. Dallas would go on to win the game 27-16.

For Perason, it became the first of many “clutch” catches during his Ring of Honor career, and it stands as the 31st greatest moment in Cowboys history.
