DENTON COUNTY (CBSDFW) – A student at Northwest ISD was taken into custody on Tuesday after rumors of a potential threat began circulating says the school district.
Officials say the investigation into the threats are on-going and are being headed up by the Denton County Sheriff’s Department.
Northwest ISD sent out an email and posted the following notification to their website:
“Thanks to students coming forward and voicing their concerns, we were able to address a situation that is currently under investigation. Please rest assured that your students are safe, but rumors of a potential threat have been circulating today. We are working with Denton County Sheriff’s Department to assess the reported threat and out of precaution; the student involved is no longer on campus. Anytime you or your child hears of a rumored threat, we encourage it to be reported immediately. This can be done anonymously by using the NISD Tip Line at www.nisdtx.org/tipline. If you have further questions, please contact our campus. ”
