This is only Spieth’s second tournament since blowing a five-stroke lead on the back nine at the Masters while trying to win at Augusta for the second year in a row. The world’s No. 2-ranked player missed the cut last week at The Players Championship.

Spieth’s only bogey Friday was a three-putt at the par-3 13th, the same as in his opening 64.
