WASHINGTON (CBSDFW.COM) – A tax preparer out of Dallas has been indicted on 29 counts of of aiding and assisting in the preparation of false income tax returns and three counts of willfully failing to file income tax returns.READ MORE: Poll: American Families Jumping Hurdles To Feed Families & Overcome Food Challenges
Vicki Louise Walker of DeSoto, was doing business under the name Vicki Walker Tax Services LLC in Dallas according to a Department of Justice news release.
The release states Walker is alleged to have prepared numerous tax returns for tax years 2010 through 2013 on which she reported false items, including false filing status, false business expenses, false capital losses and false charitable donations.READ MORE: I-Team: Relief Money Slow To Reach Desperate Texas Renters Facing Eviction
She’s also alleged to have willfully failed to file her own tax returns with the IRS for tax years 2011 through 2013.
If convicted, Walker faces a statutory maximum sentence of three years in prison for each count of aiding and assisting in the preparation of false tax returns and a statutory maximum sentence of one year in prison for each count of failing to file her own tax returns.
