PARKER COUNTY (CBSDFW.COM) – Recovery efforts continued Sunday for a 10-year-old boy that fell into the Brazos River Saturday.

The boy has been presumed dead by the officials. The rescue efforts shifted to recovery status Sunday.

According to county officials, the boy was fishing near the river with a few friends when he fell into the water going after a fish.

According to the officials, the boys were unsupervised and none of them had life-jackets on.

There were four search boats patrolling the four-mile stretch of the river that were using sonar in hopes of finding a body.

Specialized water search dogs were brought in Sunday to help in the search.

“It’s frustrating” said Parker County Emergency Management Battalion Chief Donald Schauer. “The family needs some closure and we haven’t been able to give it to them yet, but we’re going to keep trying the best we can to do that.”

The search will resume Monday.
