WAXAHACHIE (AP) – Four Dallas teenagers have been charged with stealing firearms after a truck smashed through a wall at a North Texas gun store.
Waxahachie police on Thursday announced the arrests in the July 10 thefts from the Shooter’s Edge gun shop. The suspects are charged with engaging in organized criminal activity.
Investigators say a stolen truck was used to crash into the wall at a time when the store was closed.
A gaping hole was left in the side of the business, located about 30 miles south of Dallas, as thieves stole a number of firearms — including several rifles. The pickup was later found abandoned.
Police say three handguns have been recovered.
A notice Friday on the Shooter’s Edge website says the store was closed until further notice.
