Deborah Burdette lives in Vernon.
She walked into her kitchen and saw a long rat snake.
“I was mad at that point. I said I’m not letting that sucker get away,” said Burdette. “So, I grabbed it with both hands. I reached and got a meat cleaver and then I just chopped it.”READ MORE: Cowboys Prepare For Thursday Night Game Missing 9 Players And Coaches Due To COVID-19
The scare didn’t stop there. She said later that night, “I went to set the glass in the sink and a snake struck me.”
Burdette killed that snake, too and called 911 for the bite.
