Due to the overwhelming flooding across south Louisiana, the SPCA of Texas took in 51 dogs from the Baton Rouge area last week.

On Monday, a dozen of them are ready to find their fur-ever home.

The SPCA’s Maura Davies says the other ones will be available soon.

“Some have heart-worms, and some have potential kennel cough – but we are treating those illnesses” says Davies.

You can see the doggies online at the SPCA of Texas website.

Davies adds that if now isn’t the time for you to adopt a four-legged friend, you can also donate money online to help the dogs or sign up to be a volunteer or foster.
