DALLAS (1080 KRLD) – The city of Dallas will be conducting emergency training today at Dallas City Hall and Reunion Tower.

According to officials, a live demonstration will be held in the lobby of Dallas city hall today that will include actors playing victims, complete with injury makeup, in an effort to show how to use trauma kits in the event of an active shooter.

The Dallas Police Department will be conducting their own training exercise at Reunion Tower early Tuesday morning.

Official say there will be significant DPD SWAT Team presence and the tower will be closed to the public.

Topics covered will include trends in active and mass shooting incidents, and an overview of and demonstration on how to use trauma kits. The kits are designed to treat massive bleeding, minor wounds, chest injuries and airway clearance.

Similar kits have already saved lives in Dallas and will be placed in other city owned offices.
