NORTH TEXAS (CBSDFW.COM) – According to The Guardian page The Counted, as of Sept. 23 the largest number of people by race killed by police this year are white — 387 people.

But the highest percentage of people killed by police this year by race per one million population (rounded numbers):
Native American – 5.5%
African-American – 4.9%
White – 2%

According to Officer Down Memorial Page, the number of officers killed in line of duty this year is down 6%.

But according to a mid-year report completed in July the number of police officers killed by gunfire this year was up 78% and at that time 14 were murdered in ambushes, 300% more than last year.

As of September 23 the National Law Enforcement Memorial Fund reported 41 officers had died by firearms this year.
