WESTLAKE (CBSDFW.COM) – With new corporations coming into Westlake, both the daytime population and the residential is seeing an increase.

“We are thrilled with the addition of these upper-echelon companies, which strengthen Westlake’s standing as a premier employment hub in the DFW Metroplex,” added Brymer.

The Governor’s office recently announced that Sabre GLBL Inc. will be expanding its presence in Solana’s Westlake offices, bringing approximately 500 new jobs to the area with a $37 million capital investment. This announcement comes on the heels of Charles Schwab’s announcement to bring 1,900 employees to the area. Schwab employees are already occupying the former Chrysler/TD Auto office complex, and the company plans to begin construction on Phase 1 of its new facility in the summer of 2017. The addition of both corporations will increase the current daytime population from 14,000 to 16,400.

“When people think of Westlake, a town with a population of 1,200, they don’t realize our daytime or working population is more than 10 times that,” said Tom Brymer, town manager.

In addition, Westlake is seeing a dramatic increase in the area’s housing developments. There are several new residential neighborhoods under construction or planned in the near future.

Westlake, a Gold Level Scenic City, is also the home to several corporate campuses as well as many small independent businesses including the internationally recognized Deloitte University campus, a 750,000 square-foot learning and leadership development center. Other developments in Westlake include the future Charles Schwab corporate campus, a Fidelity Investments North Texas Campus, and Solana – a high profile corporate campus which includes many Fortune 500 companies.
