NORTH TEXAS (CBSDFW.COM) – Filling up at the pump could cost you more.

The American Automobile Association reports that the national average price for a gallon of regular unleaded is $2.25, up 4 cents from last week.

Texas has also seen an increase within the last week with its average up 4 cents to $2.01 for a gallon of regular unleaded fuel.

“Texans are currently paying about $28 for a tank of regular unleaded gasoline for an average family sized vehicle,” said AAA spokesman Doug Shupe. Texas remains one of the top ten states with the cheapest gas nationwide.

Drivers could see prices at the pump fluctuate over the weeks to come as the market reacts to the OPEC production agreement, continued refinery maintenance and the possible disruption of Hurricane Matthew along the East Coast.
