DALLAS (AP) – Dallas police say DNA results show that several dogs seized after Antoinette Brown was mauled and later died did not carry out the attack.

A police statement Monday said the case involving the death of 52-year-old Brown will be closed due to lack of evidence.

Investigators say on May 2, Brown was walking by a vacant lot near the 3300 block of Rutledge Street in south Dallas when she was attacked by a pack of dogs running loose.

She died a week later.  Officers seized seven dogs from the neighborhood for testing.
