DALLAS-FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) –  CBS 11 will air a two-part documentary, “A Bright Future: West ISD Rises Up,” Saturday, Nov. 26 at 11:00 a.m. (part one) and Sunday, Nov. 27 at 7:00 a.m. (part two).

The film follows five West ISD students, along with the district’s teachers, coaches and administrators, through the tragedies and triumphs of the three years following the West Fertilizer Company explosion.

The film is narrated by the students, along with CBS RADIO’s 98.7 KLUV morning host Jody Dean.

“You’ll see captivating images showing the damage to the old schools and the beauty of the new educational spaces, but this isn’t actually a story about buildings,” said director Rush Olson. “It’s a story about resourceful, resilient people.”

The film is produced by FourNine Productions and Rush Olson Creative & Sports in cooperation with Ludisian Legion Entertainment, with soundtrack by Brad Dale of Dallas Audio Post.
