DALLAS (KRLD) – Dallas’ Office of Emergency Management offers Community Emergency Response Team classes this weekend, for neighborhoods, community organizations, and workplaces. The training prepares people to deal with the effects of many different types of disaster.

“It is especially important because, as a matter of fact, our CERT team responded during the deadly tornadoes the day after Christmas last year.”

Program Manager Cassandra Wallace says the classes are free, open to anyone, and prepare participants to deal with disasters such as tornadoes, terrorism, and fires.

New training classes begin December 3rd, 2016 and February 18th, 2017.
