Leslie Johnston, spokesperson for Arlington ISD, said another student reported the gun on campus.

“Student safety and security are a priority for everyone so we’ll continue to evaluate our security and we’ll have additional security on campus the next few days.”

Johnston explained due to final exams, backpacks won’t be allowed on campus on Thursday and Friday.

She said it’s not yet clear why the student brought the gun to campus.

AISD did not release the students’ ages, classifications or punishments.
