FRISCO (105.3 The Fan) – Defending NFL rushing champ Ezekiel Elliott is scheduled to make his preseason debut against visiting Oakland this weekend, coach Jason Garrett said on Thursday.

Elliott, involved in an appeal of a six-game suspension handed down by the NFL, can be expected to start and possibly play a dozen snaps Saturday at AT&T Stadium. He’ll likely do so along with other prominent offensive stars including Dak Prescott and Dez Bryant.

This game is a sort of “dress rehearsal,” meaning that for most of the starters, it’ll be their final action of preseason.

Next week, in the preseason finale at Houston, you can expect rookie quarterback Cooper Rush and his ilk to be the featured players.

But this weekend? Ezekiel Elliott will be in the spotlight in his most positive way: on the field.
