The leaves are changing and north Texans are finally about to bust their sweater collections from the closet. That’s right, it’s fall! Fewer festivals in Dallas and Fort Worth are less anticipated than Oktoberfest. No fretting, there are enough Oktoberfests here to celebrate all month long.

Festive, fun and phenomenal, the Addison Oktoberfest draws in huge crowds that are increasing year after year. Modeled to be a true-to-life version of the real thing in Germany, this all-ages event is welcoming to adults and children alike. Flavorful food, crafts, classic Oktoberfest music, games and more await those who visit Addison, ironically just before October for Oktoberfest. Let’s kick off our favorite month in German style!

Oktoberfest Fort Worth is bursting with action. From a 5K Run and Ride event, offering participants free entrance into the festival after the finish. For those who are more into music and satisfying their palate, no need to run and bike, admission is available at the door. Come on in to witness the tapping of the kegs, stein carrying and live music that will reset your heartbeat all at Panther Pavilion in Fort Worth. A three day pass is only $15. Kids under 12 are free with a paid adult and one day passes, depending on the day are as low as $5 to $10. Now there are no excuses not to come and indulge.

Drive up to the northern tip of the metroplex to McKinney for an early dose of German Oktober at the McKinney Oktoberfest. Have you already drank your fill of bier at the biergarten? A little ahead of your party schedule for October this year? Instead raise a glass to fitness by participating in the Rahr Oktoberfest 5K on September 30th.
