PALMER, Texas (CBSDFW.COM) – A Palmer police officer was involved in a shooting Saturday afternoon during a traffic stop, according to the Ellis County Sheriff’s Office.

Ellis County authorities say the shooting happened at around 3:50 p.m. on northbound 45 during a traffic stop.

The officer was “grazed” in the shooting but will be okay.

The suspect was taken into custody.

The Texas Department of Public Safety has taken over the investigation of the shooting.
