LOS ANGELES (CBSDFW.COM/AP) — Payless taught fashion influencers a lesson about shoes by opening a fake store that sold Main Street shoes at Madison Avenue prices.

“It’s just stunning. Elegant, sophisticated,” one shopper said of a stiletto heel.
“I can tell it was made with high-quality material,” said a man looking at a pair of leather sneakers.

One shopper exclaimed, “Shut up! Are you serious?” after learning the truth about the store.
The pranked shoppers got their money back and were allowed to keep the shoes.
