MESQUITE, Texas (CBSDFW.COM) – The Mesquite Hornets Pee Wee Football Program had much of its equipment stolen last week in Balch Springs.

The Balch Springs Police Department said the Hornets’ trailer carrying their tunnel, tents, T-shirts, sound system and more was taken from a coach’s backyard.

“It was just gut-wrenching hearing that and to tell a 4 and 5-year-old. They don’t understand somebody stole,” said Rebecca Taylor, the President of the Mesquite Pee Week Football Association said.

Taylor said those stolen items took more than six years to acquire.

Police have not yet identified a suspect.
