DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) – A North Texas veteran who CBS 11 News followed to Normandy, France in 2013 died at the age of 100 Saturday morning.

Sgt. Maj. Robert Blatnik was an avid volunteer who gave over 10,000 hours to the Dallas VA.

CBS 11’s Doug Dunbar followed Blatnik when the D-Day veteran returned to Normandy in 2013 for the first time.
