Nicole Nielsen joined the CBS 11 news team in June of 2020. Born and raised in Keller, Nicole is a North Texas native who is thrilled to work for the station she grew up watching.

To keep things short and sweet, Nicole loves journalism because it fuels her creativity, love for people and passion for beautifully told stories.

Nicole graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Oklahoma where she was an ambassador of the Gaylord college of Journalism and an anchor/reporter for “OU Nightly.” She was honored to be named in the top three collegiate news anchors in the country by the Broadcast Education Association, as well as in the top three collegiate TV personalities in the state by Oklahoma BEA. Nicole also picked up a first place award for her reporting on the sexual assault culture of college campuses from the National Broadcasting Society. In 2019, Nicole spent four months studying abroad in Italy working as a student news correspondent for CheddarU.

As a multi-media journalist for CBS 11, Nicole is a one-woman band. She shoots, edits, and writes her own stories. It’s important that viewers watch her reporting and feel more connected to their communities. If you have a story tip, or just want to say hi, feel free to email her at nicole.nielsen@cbs.com

Outside of work, Nicole loves traveling, musical theater, Orange Theory Fitness, the Oklahoma Sooners, her family, and her HSNT kitten, Marble.
