There comes a time when an LGBT person takes their first step into a gay bar. It is a place where they can open up completely, drop all pretense, and actually enjoy everything the bar has to offer. Whether it is a bar with go-go boys, drag queens, or even a gay-friendly sports bar or country dance club, it is a place where a person can finally feel at home. The DFW area has plenty of options for people looking for either that first gay bar experience or a place to call home. Here is a look at five of the best gay bars in the DFW area to celebrate Pride Month.

The Round-Up Saloon & Dance Hall
3912 Cedar Springs Road
Dallas, TX 75219
(214) 522-9611
www.roundupsaloon.comSince 1980, the Round-Up Saloon & Dance Hall has been the country dance home of the DFW gay community. Over the years it has hosted events such as the Texas AIDS Bike Ride, TGRA Functions, Broadway Cares events, and more. The bar also holds Texas Hold-Em tournaments, karaoke, and dance lessons. The Round-Up Saloon & Dance Hall is open Saturday and Sundays from noon until 2 a.m. and weekdays from 3 p.m. until 2 a.m.
Station 4
3911 Cedar Springs Road
Dallas, TX 75219
(214) 526-7171
www.station4dallas.comStation 4 is a monster club, so if large gatherings are your thing, this is the best gay bar in DFW for you. There is over 24,000 square feet in the club with 15 full service bars and one of the best dance and light shows in Dallas. Upstairs is the more upscale bar; there is a giant patio, too, which is great for relaxing. To top it off, Station 4 is where the legendary Rose Room Theater and Lounge exists, one of the best premiere show bars for gender allusion.
The Brick
2525 Wycliff Ave #120
Dallas, TX 75219
(214) 521-3154
www.brickdallas.comWith something going on every night of the week, The Brick offers the DFW gay community a great, fun night out to dance and socialize. The Brick has some of the best bartenders in the DFW area, as well as great music and some very fun traveling drag shows to entertain the audience. They also offer poker nights every Thursday and have drink and shot specials on a nightly basis.
