Fossil Rim Wildlife Center

Fossil Rim Wildlife Center offers a scenic wildlife drive in the comfort of your own car, and has a Children’s Animal Center. Guided tours, overnight Safari adventures and dinners, and Behind the Scenes tours are available with reservations. Fossil Rim Wildlife Center is a not-for-profit 501(c)3 entity specializing in captive breeding programs for indigenous and exotic endangered and threatened species of animals.

Hours: Oct-Feb admissions 8:30am-3:30pm. Mar admissions 8:30am-4:30pm. Apr-Oct admissions 8:30am-5:30pm.

Dinosaur World

One Fossil Dig ticket is included per paid ticket for children 3-12. Persons under 3 or over 12 may purchase a Dig ticket for $2. Dinosaur World also has an indoor museum and an outdoor exhibit of over 150 life-size dinosaur models.

Hours: Daily 9am-5pm

Cost: Adults/$12.75; children ages 3 to 12/$9.75; seniors over 60/$10.75. Parking is free.

Dinosaur Valley State Park

Dinosaur Valley State Park is a 1500-acre park that includes camping, fishing, mountain biking, restrooms, showers and swimming, and contains a dinosaur exhibit and preserved dinosaur tracks. The dinosaur tracks are located in the riverbed, so please call ahead to check on river conditions.

Hours: 8am-10pm, 7 days a week year-round

Fort Worth Stockyards

Located in the heart of the Stockyards National Historic District, Stockyards Station exemplifies Fort Worth by providing an exciting blend of old and new, and has shops as well as being a Depot for the Tarantula Steam Train.

Costs: Ticket prices vary by event. Many events are free.

Hours: Visitor’s Center is open Mon-Fri 8:30am-6pm, Sat 9am-6pm & Sun 11am-5pm


Fair Park

Located two miles east of downtown Dallas on 277 acres, Fair Park is the site for the African American Museum, the Museum of the American Railroad, an Aquarium, the Dallas Historical Society, the Museum of Nature & Science, the Hall of State, the Texas Discovery Gardens and the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, musicals, markets, festivals, sporting events and the State Fair of Texas.

Cost: Fair Park Passport offers admission to all eight museums for $13.99 per child and $23.99 per adult and is valid for 90 days from the date of purchase.

Dallas World Aquarium
