Americans have a reputation for knowing only one language, but there are many benefits to speaking and understanding more than one language. It is good to continue learning throughout one’s life, and attaining a new language skill would likely have many practical uses. Developing a new skill such as a new language will make you more confident and you will feel better about yourself in general. You may also be able to help others in some meaningful way if you know their language. Learning a language takes work, and often it is best to have help.
