Swing dance is a group of dances that developed with the style of jazz music between the 1920’s and the 1950’s. In recent years, swing dancing has made a comeback in popularity. Many bars, restaurants and dance halls host swing dance nights and even provide lessons for beginners. These are great opportunities to work on your moves while meeting others that share an interest in the art of swing dancing.

Every Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, they have dance lessons starting at 7pm so that you can learn some new moves before showing them off later that night. Head over for West Coast Swing Wednesdays so you can learn how to swing with some other newcomers. The environment is very welcoming so it’s perfect whether it’s your first time or you’re a professional.

For only $7 beginners can have a lesson at 8pm and then show off the moves they learned until midnight. This has become a very popular event, and it is a great opportunity to make friends. Dance lessons are for beginners and beginners plus. After the dance lesson, feel free to head up to some karaoke or to practice your dancing with others on the dance floor.

The decor accents on the walls remind you of the past, and the cocktails, music and dancing only help to enhance that atmosphere. There is live music each night of the week with two bands each night from Thursday to Saturday. Most bands play either jazz or blues which are perfect for swing dancing. There’s no cover Sunday through Thursday which makes that a perfect time to enjoy some music and a cocktail, and dance all night.
