If I could remove the plethora of transactions my debit card has incurred from constant dining out at DFW’s best restaurants this year, I’d have enough cold, hard cash to book an extended stay, worry-free vacation in Paris. That’s a lot of money. Being the budget-friendly girl that I am learning (read: needing) to become, I have found some tasty ways around emptying my bank account paycheck after paycheck. If only I didn’t have to eat to survive. But seeing as how that is physically impossible, and food is really, really delicious, we present to you the Best Cheap Diners in the Dallas Fort Worth area.

When the gang on Friends gathers at Central Perk, their conversations are always accompanied by those signature wide brimmed, fits-two-cups-of-coffee-in-one types of coffee mugs, guaranteed to give anyone the necessary caffeine buzz required to get through the work day. Buzzbrews offers mugs of equal size. Settle in and take some time to browse their wide menu with interestingly named items such as “Hare Krishna” and “The Zinger.” At this 24-hour eclectic diner, everything is good, hearty and free WiFi is available.

The first thing I have to say about Café Brazil is: coffee addicts, welcome home. Indie-vibe restaurant Café Brazil offers an entire coffee bar with a variety of intriguing flavored roasts. Their menu is massive and has the ability to appease taste buds around the clock. Some locations are open 24 hours, which is great for students pushing an 8AM term paper deadline or groups of friends needing a place to hang out over a cup of joe long after everything else in the metroplex has closed its doors. Free WiFi is also available.

Order this: Pancrepes. Literally pancake-crepes, topped with a delectable crème anglaise and raspberry sauce for $5.49. For the indecisive cheap diner.

Whoever decided to put LA Gourmet next to the row of bars on McKinney Avenue AND keep it open until 3:30AM deserves a late-night medal of cheap diner honor. The pizza at LA Gourmet is most delicious after a long night perusing the bars or the next-day afternoon (face it, you’re asleep until noon) hangover cure. Always served hot, fresh and loaded with toppings, LA Gourmet takes orders until about 3AM on the weekends, which is when you need it most.

Order this: Pepperoni Classico. Piles of pepperoni and buffalo mozzarella. A large is $16.99 divided by three of your hungry friends yields two slices each for less than five bucks. For the super late night cheap diner.

Also try their sides of fluffy pancakes for $4 and grits for $3.

Pluckers wing bar is the epitome of late night, greasy, these-calories-don’t-really-count food. Start with fried pickles and fried macaroni (don’t ask, just do it). Bring your friends in the early AM hours and order 5, 10, 20 or 100 wings to share. Choose your sauce from a catalogue of regular and spicy sauces: ranch, spicy BBQ, lemon pepper and more. Pluckers is so worth putting your diet on hold for a day.

Order this: Fried pickles, a half order is $3.99. For the college student cheap diner.
