Burglary Suspect Killed By Police in Northeast Dallas
A burglary suspect has died in a Dallas police shooting. Now, his family is crying foul. The man was spotted driving through an northeast Dallas apartment complex last night. When witnesses said he was the burglar who was breaking into cars, police tried to stop him. When he sped off, nearly running over an officer, the officer opened fire in self-defense. The man’s pick-up continued on but crashed into a DART bus shelter and a tree a short distance away near Audelia and Walnut. He was taken to the hospital but later died. The man’s father claims his son was un-armed but police have not confirmed that. They did say stolen items were found in the crashed pick-up. One officer was treated for cuts on his arm from broken glass but was otherwise not injured.
