The National Weather Service extended the heat advisory through the weekend.  The upper level ridge is still overhead, but an approaching front may have enough oomph to allow some storms to develop along mainly the Red River or NE Texas, but I’ve kept in that isolated chance in our area today too.  Hot, sticky weather will continue into the weekend with heat indices still around 105.
