NTTA Considers Altering Billing Schedule

If you don’t have a toll tag and you’re sick of getting buried in invoices, some good news may be on the horizon.  In the next couple of months, the North Texas Tollway Authority’s finance and audit committee will consider changing its billing schedule.  Instead of mailing a bill every 5 transactions, they’re considering only mailing invoices every 30 transactions or after 30 days; whichever comes first.

The Tollway Authority’s Sherita Coffelt tells KRLD moving away from sending invoices so frequently would save the agency time money and paper and it would cut some of the confusion they’ve been hearing about lately from customers who have to call and tie up employees with questions about how much they really owe.  Some, though, are concerned that those who have ignored bills in the past could be in for a shock because all fees would appear as one large amount on the less-frequent invoices.

Billing schedule??? Give me a break. I wait patiently to get a ‘Zip Bill”. Then they start their ridiculous practice of charging an illegal/BS/ Usurious/ administrative fee for each occurance. With all kinds a veiled threats. I’d love to pay my bill in a timely fashion. This organization is the worst run business ever constructed. Texas needs to fire this organization and get some competent management. Class action suit against this unprofessional, disorganized, disjointed theives is inevitable. I’m writing my congressman immediately.

Bill ?? What Bill, today after a year 9-2009 today 10-2010 they send me a Violation Invoice with many 25.00 fees on it. Said they send the bill to the lease holder, not the tag holder us, but they are able to send this violation billing…then they say, oh we can reduce it by 33%, when we called them and paid what we thought was everything in Jan 0f 2010….it is a scam that Texas Toll Authority treats Texas Drivers like criminals.
